Per the CHP of San Jose, on Friday, April 2, 2021, near the midnight hour, a person driving a 2004-2010 Mercedes CLS coupe fled the scene after crashing into a woman in a wheelchair.

The crash was called into 911 at 11:35 PM.

The woman was crossing the road near the Plant Shopping Center and Oak Hill Memorial Park, near Monterey Road, at Curtner Avenue, when she was hit by the Mercedes.

Sadly, the woman who was crossing the street in her wheelchair passed away after this hit and run crash. The police continue to investigate this tragic accident.

This fatal crash is San Jose's tenth 2021 auto accident death, and one of three fatal crashes to happen within the last week or so.
