The above San Jose roads represent just 3% of San Jose's approximate 2,400 miles of roads. They're a handful of San Jose's streets. Yet, a whopping 33% of traffic fatalities and 27% of severe injuries happen on these 17 streets!
In a 2018 City of San Jose memo, the City of San Jose Director of Transportation wrote that the City of San Jose is working on making these roads safer.
According to a July 2019 report in the San Jose Mercury News, the intersection of McLaughlin Avenue and Story Road was the most dangerous intersection in San Jose between 2013 and 2017.
