The 2022 first fatal crash in San Jose killed 45 year old Juan Martinez, who passed away because someone driving an SUV hit him and then fled the scene, indifferent to the fact that Mr. Martinez was lying in the street, injured by the crash.
The San Jose Police Department reports that the hit and run happened around 8:05 at night, on Sunday, January 2, 2022, near South White Road and East Hills Drive. Someone driving a dark, full-sized SUV hit Martinez, a pedestrian crossing the street.
Then, the SUV driver ran away, leaving injured Juan Martinez lying helpless in the roadway. Then, two other drivers of two other SUVs hit Martinez, but they stopped at the scene.
Police indicate that Mr. Juan Martinez was outside of a crosswalk when the first crash happened. Police continue to look for the driver of the first SUV that hit him and ran away. Sadly, Mr. Juan Martinez passed away at the accident scene.
