The Fresno Bee reports that on January 26, 2021, motorcyclist Ricardo Simpson, 34, of Fresno, was killed in Central Fresno when a truck hit him on East Ashlan Ave. near Cedar Ave.

The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident occurred at around 6:00 PM. They explain that Ricardo Simpson was riding his motorcycle westbound on Ashlan, when a truck was turning north toward a nearby shopping center. The truck hit Mr. Simpson, but its driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

The truck's driver told the Fresno Police that he did not see Ricardo Simpson before he hit him. Mr. Simpson was ejected onto the asphalt. He suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center. Sadly, Mr. Simpson passed away due to the crash.
